I have had it services (it only has 33 hrs on the clock) as well as computer diagnosed with no results. If the sensor is bad and thinks the engine is at full throttle all of the time, it's going to deliver the fuel needed for full throttle. Oct 26, 2015 · I went for one of the last outings yesterday with my 2008 Whaler and Mercury 60-HP BIGFOOT. All season long I quite often had problems running at 1,400 to 2,000-RPM and anywhere in between, a swing of 400 to 600-RPM.

If you had to replace one part it would be this. It is part 881070 for about $69.00. It is located on top of the throttle body and fairly easy to replace. Otherwise, I would have to advise you to have an experienced and certified Mercury tech check over the motor with his test equipment. Kenny.
