Kawasaki vulcan 1500 starting problems.
Some of the older 1500's had a problem with bent shift forks, but it would probably be jumping out of gear if that was the case. The positive neutral finder on the Vulcans make the 1-2 shift a little clunky, that's more likely what it is. You have to shift with authority, don't granny shift it.
96 1500 classic staying running problems. Right now my 1500 will start with the choke and run for a minute or so then stall out. Clean your ground cable where it attaches to the back of motor. Make sure its tight. 2. Disconnect your battery, make sure your wires attaching to your starter solenoid are clean and tight. Don't just look at them, undo the connectors and make sure. Reattach your ground.

Jun 19, 2014 · Cold start problem. Bought an 03 500, 5,000 miles, back in 2011. Now has 15,000 miles, but has always been difficult to start on cold mornings. Had the carbs out twice, cleaned and adjusted, and the engine runs fine. But the enricher (choke) has never worked. Pulling the enricher out during cold weather does nothing. The first issue you're talking about isn't really an issue at all. Even though the clutch is 'disengaged' there is still some drag between the clutch plates through the oil between the plates. You should be able to the get tire through any MC supply house (like DennisKirk.com) or any MC shop. It should only run you $70-$80 + mounting. It's a decent tire for a good price.Try properly charging the battery. If the voltage dropped to 9-10 volts it probably won't recover. You can take the battery to almost any auto store and get it load tested too. The battery shouldn't be dead after a few weeks of sitting.
