Make sure the ATV is off when you disconnect the stator. With your multimeter set to ohms, get to work resistance testing each circuit. Connect the multimeter leads to the terminals in the stator’s electrical connector, testing between pins 1 and 2, 2 and 3, and 1 and 3. secondary is between the electrical connector and spark plug cap. If you get no reading on the secondary side, unscrew the spark plug cap and read it again. Then check to make sure the plug cap is OK by reading through it too. Hi, I did a little test today to see if the stator was putting out. I used a voltage tester and put the pos on the black lead going to the coil, and cranked the engine. It read around 180Mv. Plugged it back in. I then put the pos lead into the plug socket and that read the same.
