But back in the day Ed worked for their rival. Then PCH went on a crazy marketing blitz and everyone just remembers Ed doing some sweepstakes thing, and if it a sweepstakes advertised on TV it must be PCH. This is honestly silly. Ed McMahon never actually did this, but, everybody would get the two mixed up, so even Johnny Carson digged at him about it by putting PCH on the check.
