The most efficient factions for max rewards across all 6 assault battles are: Jedi, NS, IT, Sith, and Rebels. I would consider FO/SLK "better" for Places of Power challenge tier 3, but Sith wins out at all lower tiers/gear levels, so I'd recommend them.
