I would like to know is there any thing I should be aware of with this year/make and model? Troubleshoot the problem in order to find and repair only the fault that is present. If you need help to troubleshoot, post back. If engine will not start, check spark and compression. If engine has spark and compression, pour a small amount up to 1/2 ounce into the carburetor throat. Hi there I had the same problem with my Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Classic 2005 B model. After engagement of gears as soon as I let the clutch out she didn't want to go and cut oooot. So after removing the Clutch Lever switch aka the Bullshit Switch and putting a loop into the contacts she was fine. Either but a new switch or do what I did.

I have changed the needles, even swapped the floats, checked the ports for debris that might prevent the needle from seating, and it still leaks from the rear carb. I checked the seat with a magnifying lens and there were no burrs or varnish buildup.Clean the kill switch contacts while you are there. Pull the ignition fuse (number 7). Check for power to the fuse. If have power, clean the fuse spades with the wire brush and reinstall. While the bike is running, check the side stand switch and clutch switch. I don't know how much you know about working on vehicles, but diagnose and determine an issue, don't just throw parts at it hoping to solve the problem. Possible causes of your issue: Throttle sensor. Fuel pump or blocked fuel filter. Ignition coil (s) or igniter.

Vulcan 800 Carburetor Problems. Hey guys. A little back story on the bike. It's a 1998 Vulcan 800 classic. My buddy bought it about 3 years ago and never really rode it. It wound up at my house, where I rode it now and again, but it started giving me trouble. Going down the road, even at normal speeds, the bike would lose power and cut out.

1. On the ignitor plug, locate the grey/black wire. 2. Push your red meter lead down beside wire in connector to touch connector pin. 3. Black meter lead to battery ground. 4. It could be that the meter is off, though.
