I had my membrane swept at 10am and was also 2 cm. Lost my mucus plug around 4 pm. Took a nap to rest up for birth. At 7 pm started having contractions with no real pattern which continued all night. By 7 am I noticed them getting closer together. At 10am we decided to go to hospital and was 6 almost 7 cm dialated. The mucus plug is usually: Clear, off-white or slightly bloody (red, brown or pink) in color. Stringy, sticky and jelly-like in texture. 1 to 2 inches in length. 1 to 2 tablespoons in volume. I had a sweep last Friday, lost a ton of my mucus plug with blood. That didn’t send me into labor but it did help me dilate. On Tuesday my provider did another sweep (they were going to be inducing me anyway so it made sense) and that once sent me into labor. Didn’t need a medical induction!
