The only thing I've done to the 795 is to throw a set of Tech Sights on it, polish the bolt, and fiberglass bedded a steel rod in the forearm and weighted the buttstock a bit.

The Marlin is easily the better shooter, and more reliable. The Ruger magazines must be 'tweaked' for best performance and get dirty quickly.Bigger orders get a lower price. Packaging and merchandising are done and can be ordered in bulk. So, now you start up with the Marlin 60, all aspects need to be started up and the price point is less than a 10/22.
