The officer didn't have my I-751 but she still did i751 & N400 combo interview for me (I brought my spouse). I passed the citizenship interview, but the officer couldn't make decision due to pending i-751. Few days after the interview, i-751 status was changed to "case transferred to NBC center (from LIN)" and then "Fingerprints were taken".April 12, 2021 - N400 interview in LA passed (with a pending i-751) May 20, 2021 - I-751 status changed to Approved and N400 status changed to Oath Will Be Scheduled. 🤩. May 21, 2021 - received a call and email from USCIS Los Angeles with my NOA with my oath schedule. May 28, 2021 - oath taking schedule in USCIS DTLA office. 😍I applied for I-751 in Oct, 2017 and N400 in Oct 2018. I'm still waiting. If your file is currently stuck in a box somewhere, being ignored. The N400 speeds the thing up. If your file is out of the box and the I-751is ready to be approved at the CSC or transferred to your field office for an interview. The N-400 delays everything.

Really, there wasn't a clear I-751 section and a separate N-400 piece of the interview, and as far as I could tell, approving the I-751 was really more a question of having evaluated the previously submitted evidence. Although I had brought updates and additional evidence for the I-751 the officer didn't want to see any of it.
