In my opinion, the Ruger SR-762 is a rifle that makes a lot of sense. It has some amazing features with excellent performance, but there are just enough little nagging issues to keep it from being “perfect.”. Ruger SR-762. Specifications: Caliber: 7.62 NATO. Barrel: 16.12 inches.
The Ruger SFAR is not really anything new. POF did the same thing with the Rogue, and DPMS did the same thing even before that with the DPMS Gen 2. The added handguard compatibility with an AR-15 is nice, but no, the AR10 is far from dead. The large frame AR may not have a "standard", but there is a TON of aftermarket for LR308/SR25.Been debating back and forth on getting a .308 rifle, originally I wanted to get a Ruger GSR Bolty, but I’m leaning towards just getting an AR10. However, on the 16” vs 20” question, go 20” because the 16” with Mid-Length gas has been problematic. The PRS Lite is made to fit the full length of a mil-spec carbine buffer tube. The SFAR is not a mil-spec tube. The rail on the bottom that the buttstock rides and adjusts on is longer that standard mil-spec.
