Becoming a public land hunter this past season forced me to get some new equipment and explore some treestand modifications. I bought a Hawk Helium XL treestand and Lone Wolf Climbing Sticks, as I liked the versatility of a lock-on over the ease of a climber, here are the treestand modifications I have found work best for me.The Hawk Helium sticks remedy both of these cons by coming in 40$ cheaper per set of 3 sticks and having 3 double sided steps along each stick. The Hawk Helium sticks are easily stacked to pack on a stand for long distance walks. As you can see by this picture the sticks stay together quietly and only create minimum mass.FYI - If you use a Harken 150 or Schaffer 70-17 you will need at least 2.25" hardware to mount through a Hawk Helium stick. I measured and figured I had about 1/4" of threads with a 2" bolt but it didn't work out that way.
