Estoc dark souls.

What do you all think about the estoc? I have it upgraded +10 with darkness but i can't seem to hit high. Also i have 18 dex and 40 strength since estoc scales better with strenght. Shall i go for lighting, bleed, magic?I'm experimenting with both. Both suck with stagger but I like the counter and reach with the estoc. But I think it's just not enough. What's the appeal of the uchi? Strength based weapons seem to do just as much damage but with higher poise stagger...Whenever someone invades me, I, for the most part, cheese them mercilessly with but a few simple light stabs from Estoc. It's absolutely insane how much damage it does, in both PvE and PvP, and I've yet to fight anyone else who uses it. I'm the only person I've run into who seems to use the glory that is Bestoc.The extra range on Estoc can be really nice for spacing compared to Rapier. Also, the Estoc I believe has shield splitter, great for damaging through the shield of your opponent. But in general you want low weight and low requirements. Claymore, Zwie, Estoc, and Garg Halberd are all good. My guess is that the tracking somehow favors stabby weapons in laggy conditions, this doesn't apply just to Estoc but Rapier too. Ricard's is the kind of balanced one if it takes a semblance of skill to use. All the rapiers are op. Estoc simply the best of them. In a weapon tier list you would have to go down 5 places to find a weapon that isn't a rapier. I feel the same as you.

The Estoc has also a very long reach. Don't forget, if you use it 1 handed, the R2 gives you a horizontal slash. The Estoc is a very versatile weapon, and it can carry you through the whole game, but of course it plays different than a heavy two handed sword.
