If you want an experience close to the base game go reforged. If you want to be an absolutely overpowered spell caster go convergence. Convergence does allow for easier exploration with all the portals to erdtrees and stuff. Ive played both extensively, and imo convergence drowns reforged in terms of gameplay and replayability. Unalloyed is my favorite.
