PLEASE HELP! V-Star 1300 engine problems. I have a 2007 Yamaha V-star 1300 Custom. It starts up fine and shifts fine, but when I'm releasing the clutch it makes a horrible grinding noise. I've checked the oil level and made sure the bike's in gear, the grinding doesn't happen in Neutral but in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd it's happening consistently.The reason for shifting down is: you panic stop in a dangerous situation and you may need to take off quickly again from the stop - bike needs to be in 1st gear. or you stop the bike and put your feet down, and now you have to pick up your left foot and find 1st gear before the bike can start moving.2007 Yamaha V Star Classic.
